Facebook traffic campaigns are one of the most promising ways to boost your website traffic. You can easily gain website visitors by setting up a retargeting campaign on Facebook Ads manager, delivering Traffic Ads to potential customers who engaged with your business on social media before, and directing them to your website.

You will need a Facebook Ad account to create your campaign. Go to your Ads Manager and start here: https://www.facebook.com/ads/manager/accounts

Create your Campaign

Step 1. Select the “+Create” button.

Step 2. Select “Traffic” as your campaign objective, and click Continue.

Step 3. Enter a name for your store traffic campaign, turn on “Advantage Campaign Budget” and set your Daily or Lifetime budget.

Create your Ad Set

Step 1. Enter a descriptive Ad Set Name and select Website as the destination to drive traffic.

Step 2. You can turn on “Dynamic creative” to optimize your creatives. The system will deliver dynamic content based on what resonates with each audience.

Step 3. Define your “Target Audience”, audience group to who you would like to reach and deliver your ads.

Example: Let's say you want to create a traffic objective campaign for your online clothing store.

Step 1. Set your Custom Audiences (optional)

You can choose to set Custom Audiences to reach people who’ve interacted with your clothing brand. You can use sources like customers' e-mail lists or engagement on Facebook to create your custom audiences. Once you’re ready to grow your business, you can use your Custom Audience to create a Lookalike Audience to reach more people.

Step 2. Select locations, age, and gender

Step 3. Define your audience by including or excluding demographics, interests, and behaviors. For example, you can include the audience:

  • Demographic: female, age 18 - 60

  • Behavior: Engaged Shoppers

  • Interest: Clothing, Shopping and Fashion, Dresses, Online Shopping, etc.

Step 4. Use the recommended “Automatic Placements”. The system will help optimize your performance by maximizing your budget and reaching audiences across multiple placements.

Step 5. Create your ad

1. Select the Facebook Business Page and Instagram account you'd like to deliver your ads from.

2. You can use several formats to create your ad. Video Ad is one of the most commonly used formats to engage and generate brand awareness.

3. You can use Facebook templates to create your video ad.

4. Upload your Video Ad Creative. Add “Text & Links” with primary text, headline, and description to make the ad more informative and engaging. Furthermore, you can also choose the desired landing page on your website to direct ad viewers to, add a CTA button (Call to Action) like “Shop Now,” etc. To preview it, you can click on the preview button in the right column.

Step 5. You can advertise to people in up to 48 additional languages in a single Facebook ad campaign.

Step 6. Select one or more options for conversion tracking. You’ll see the results in Ads Manager along with ad performance data.

Click “Confirm,” and you have successfully created your Facebook Traffic campaign!
